Dr. Guanyu Wang represents the IQ Consortium Quantitative Systems Pharmacology working group, whose mission is to build industrial consensus for evaluating QSP models. As a key member, Guanyu has contributed to conducting a webinar for industry peers and the scientific exchange with FDA to communicate the current industry-wide practices of QSP modeling.
Guanyu is currently a Principal Scientist in the preclinical and translational modeling & simulations group at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Boston, US, and Vertex’s lead scientist on QSP modeling. Guanyu is highly skilled at using mathematics and computer science to model real-world systems, from cellular level models to full-body models. She has extensive practical experience in physiological based pharmacokinetics modeling, mechanistic pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics modeling, and biological systems modeling. Guanyu’s current work focuses on translational modeling from preclinical species and in vitro systems to in vivo human bodies in the area of rare diseases, and modeling to improve patient-level precision dosing and quantifying uncertainty in dose prediction. Guanyu earned her PhD in Mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University.
