Prof. Li has a clinical interest in airway diseases including asthma, COPD and bronchiectatsis, and in interstitial lung dieases (ILDs) including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), hypersensitivity pneumonitis and sarcoidosis. He also manages ILDs associated with systemic conditions such as dermatomyositis and rheumatoid arthritis.
His current research interest is focused on the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in lung epithelial cells, and effect of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of airway diseases and ILDs. He is also researching on the impact of environmental pollutants such as ozone and PM2.5 on the lung and on lung diseases.
He holds several national grants and published more than 20 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author.
